We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

I Thessalonians 5:1-5

"But of the times and the seasons brethern, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety: then suddenly destruction cometh upon them as travail upon a woman with child: and they shall not escape. But ye, brethern, are not in darkness that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are children of light, and the children of the day:"

Seasons: The Acts 1:6,7,8

"They asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel ? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the season, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive, power, after the the Holy Ghost is come upon you; . . ."

In our child like ways we often miss the big picture.

Seasons: John 5:4

"For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water; whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole."
If you remember the story there was a man there who had his infirmity for 38 years but he could never be the first to get down into the water. He asked Jesus to help him but instead Jesus said, "Wilt thou be made whole?" and then Jesus said to him, "Take up thy bed, and walk."

Many things to think about here, least of all is why the water was only troubled at certain seasons.

Topic Seasons: Daniel 2:20-22

This is a long one but I think we can apply it to our time. It's in response to a vision Daniel recieved.
"Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him."

I love that.

To everything there is a season

I've used this one before but there are 9 verses to it so I will use a different one.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1 and 7
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens. . .
a time to keep silent, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

I pray for the season of silence, war, and hate to pass and the season to speak, love and of peace to come again.
Amen

What is a season?

"Deuteronomy 28:11-12
And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasures, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season . . . ."

He is speaking here to Israel of course but shall we not also likewise be blessed in his season by his promise and covenate to us.

Genesis 1:14

It is October and there is a chill in the air. The season is changing. In the begining:

"God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so."

Why do we need seasons -- or do we?
