We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

That I may heal you

“O all of ye that were spared because ye were more righteous than they will ye not now return unto me and repent of your sins and be converted that I may heal you.” (3 Nephi 9:13)
This is after the three days of darkness when Christ spoke to the people who remained after the earthquakes and fires. What I get out of this is that Christ wants to heal us. He wants to save us, but he cannot help us unless we want it. He says, “As many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God. And even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh…” (3 Nephi 9:17)
We have to be trying and do our very best. When Christ came and made the final sacrifice of his life and overcame death and rose again on the third day he did away with the blood sacrifices and the burnt offerings. He said, “I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings, and ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit… Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth and be saved.”  (3 Nephi 9:22)
