“They had wars, and blood shed and famine and affliction,
for the space of many years. And there had been murders and contentions, and dissensions,
and all manner of iniquity among the people of Nephi; nevertheless, for the righteous
sake, yea, because of the prayers of the righteous, they were spared.” (Alma
62: 39-40)
This was written sometime around 50 BC by people who lived
on the American continent. Not much has changed in all that time. We still have
contentions and all manner of iniquity upon the face of this land, and still
today because of the prayers of the righteous we can be spared. Don’t stop praying.
