We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

The bigger they are the harder they fall

For a period of about eight years there was peace among the inhabitance of the American continent. Helaman records that there was continual rejoicing and the church grew. Then pride began to enter into the church. About four years later they were at war again, but this time the Lamanites were able to overpower the Nephites…the people of the church. Helaman says, “Now the great loss of the Nephites, this great slaughter which was among them would not have happened had it not been for their wickedness and their abominations which was among them; yea, and it was among those also who professed to belong to the Church of God. And it was because of the pride of their hearts and because of their exceeding riches.” (Helaman 4: 11-12)
