And the Lord provided for them.... that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ

As I continue reading in Alma about their missionary efforts, Alma prays mighty unto the Lord for the Zoramites. He is grieved because of their pride and that they are puffed up even to greatness with the vain things of the world. He prays for comfort that he might have strength and be patience with them. He says."Behold, O Lord their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethern; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethern, again unto thee. ... And the Lord provided for them.... that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ. Now this was according to the prayer of Alma and this because he prayed in faith." Alma 31:35 and 38.

"And the Lord provided for them.... that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ" Alma 31:38 and this because of Alma's prayer of faith. Notice, he didn't take away the afflictions for we came here to be tested and tried. May we bear our afflictions in the Joy of Christ because of our prayer of faith. Ceil
