We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Topic: Thankful; The Acts 27:34

"Wherefore I pray you to take some meat; for this is for your health; for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all:"

This is an interesting passage. This is where Paul is held prisoner and King Agrippa said, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christan." Since Paul was not worthy of death they put him on a ship to bring him before Caesar. But the ship was caught in a tempestuous wind. After many days Paul stood before them and said, you should have listened to me, but be of good cheer because there will not be the loss of any man's life, but of the ship only. Then after 14 days they were frighten and ready to abandon ship. Paul gave the above quote and all were saved. However, as Paul had told them the ship ran aground and was broken by the violent waves.

I am so guilty of this. Like the sailors I loose faith when caught in the tempest for more than 14 days.
