We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

The Lord judges in righteousness

“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse… And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord. And he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears, but in righteousness shall he judge the poor and reprove with equality for the meek of the earth. (Isaiah 11:1-4)
Isaiah is speaking of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and of some of the gifts he has. We also have gifts. Some of which we fail to develop, but when we do our lives and the lives of others are so blessed.
I like the part where it says “he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.”
As a CASA I have had occasion to observe the workings of the Law in the court room. Man’s law is cold and hard and leaves very little sway by the heart. Decisions are made on evidences presented. I report what I see and hear. The other members of the team likewise present their interpretation of the evidence. I pray about the evidence I report and I know that others on the team including the judge on this particular case prays, but in the end we are bound by the law.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that the Lord judges by the heart? That he understands our thoughts, feelings and not only the intent of our heart, but the life events that has brought us to those thoughts and intents.
