We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

The difference between faith and vain imaginations

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) but how do you tell the difference between faith and vain imaginations? Vain imaginations can be  pretty real sometimes and if we look for proof we can find it. The power - the magic - by which miracles are preformed, is universal, but the difference is if that power is used by an agent of the devil or of God.
Remember when God wanted to take his people out of Egypt he sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh. Aaron cast down the rod and it became a snake. Then Pharaoh called his magicians and sorcerers. They also cast down their rods and the rods became serpents, but Aaron’s serpent swallowed up their serpents. Many other miracles did they do until Pharaoh let the people go. So how can you tell the differences? By the peace that passes understanding and because you know Gods voice as did Abraham when asked to sacrifice his son.
