We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

The fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much.

“The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that ye may be healed, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much.” (James 5:15:16)
The previous verse talks about calling the elders of the church which is an act of faith.
Sin does indeed cause illness. Sometimes it is because of harmful substance taken into the body as in addictions, or it can also be because of guilt, or feelings of worthlessness. That is why we need to confess our faults and with fervent prayer and the mercy of God we can overcome our faults, sins and problems. All of that takes faith, but in all things may the will of the Father be done.
