Lazarus the brother of Mary and Martha was sick and his
sisters sent for the Lord. “He whom thou lovest is sick”
When he heard Jesus said, “This sickness is not unto death
but for the Glory of God.” And he waited two days in the same place before he
said let us go to Judea.
The disciples reminded him that they wanted to stone him in
Judea. And Christ answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man
walk in the day he stumbleth not… but if a man walk in the night he stumbleth.”
Timing was everything here. Tradition said the spirit of the
dead entered the spirit world in three days. Had Christ raised his friend
before that the Jews could have said he was not really dead. The word of God is
light and if we walk by his light things will turn out right. How often I have second
guessed promptings and reaped the consequences. Will I never learn?
