We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

There is no rest for the wicked

The way the word rest is used in the scriptures has long intrigued me. My first encounter with the word  was in Paul’s epistle to the Hebrews. He speaks of entering into His rest and indicates there is but one rest. “For if Jesus had given them rest then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God for he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own work.” (Hebrews 4:8)
In other words Christ rest has eternal implications. We have inner peace or rest for our souls when we accept the atonement of Christ and began living a Christian lifestyle, but that in not a passport or ticket into heaven. We must cease from our own work and work for Christ or we lose that inner peace or rest. Believing in Christ, or even knowing that he lives is only the beginning and means little unless we change our lives we will lose our peace and restfulness.
Lucifer does not just believe in Christ, he knows Jesus well and fights against his influence to the death. This is only my belief but I believe that our Spirit minds and bodies know right from wrong. When eternal laws are broken, whether we intended to or if it was done to us by someone else that rest is broken or infiltrated. Even if we convince ourselves that it is not wrong to do a certain thing we damage ourselves.
For a visual we can imagine that we came here clean and full of light and as we begin our life we get smudges. Sometimes we are dumped into the pig pen and think it is great because that is all we know. Getting clean is a painful process and can even feel wrong to us. Think about how the light hurts our eyes when we have been in total darkness. There is no rest for the wicked.
