The disciples were assembled and the doors shut for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood in their mist and said, "peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord."
We know that Christ is the head of the church and that when he began his ministry he called apostles and organized his church. I know that those who believe that Christ church is no longer on the earth will not be reading this post or the the Bible but here is where it talks about the his Church -- the organization he left behind in his name. Verses 21-23 tell about that. He said as my Father sent me I send you, He gave them the Holy Ghost (because he was leaving for other duties) and said whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted.Whoo! Wait a second. Who can forgive sins? Oh, we can and should forgive each other but only in Christ can we be made clean. But here he gave them the Holy Ghost and the power and the authority to act in his stead. Christ Church was still on the earth. Yes, it did finally dissolve due to unbelief but in these latter days it has been restored of this I testify.
