We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Is Christ divided into many churches?

“ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel” (Galatians 1:6)  Paul told the Galatians. To the church at Corinthians he said:
“Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you…” 1 Corinthians 1:13 &14)
It reminds me of a young farm boy sometime around 1820 who noted an unusual religious excitement in the area where he lived. “Some were contending for the Methodist faith, some for the Presbyterian, and some for the Baptist.”  Joseph Smith, that young boy was raised in a religious home where the Bible was read daily. He happened one day to be reading in the book of James. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.” (James 1:5) From that came the restoration of the true gospel of Jesus Christ, through a second witness that did not dismiss the first witness (the Bible) but supported and testifies of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Why are we so soon removed?

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. Which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (Galatians 1: 6&7)

Are we students or teachers?

“And a certain Jew named Apollos… was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue; whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard they took him unto them and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.” (Acts 18: 24-26)
“For we know in part, But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child; but when I became a man I put away childish things.” (1 Corinthians 13 : 9 – 11)
We grow in the Gospel even as we grow in life and progress in knowledge and experience. Some of us are content to be C students, some are A students while others excel beyond that and become masters and teachers.

Who are you?

“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus saying ‘we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth’…And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know and Paul I know but who are you?” (Acts 19:13 & 15)
“No man taketh this honour unto  himself, but he that is called of God as was Aaron.” (Hebrews 3:4)

Bound in the spirit

During his mission, Paul wrote, “And now, behold I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there.” (Acts 20:22)
What trust, what faith. We should be so strong.
