We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

The Holy Spirit testifies of Christ

“And thou shall be perfect with the Lord.” Deuteronomy 18:13.  He’s talking here about those who follow fortunetellers, wizards, diviners, witchcraft, priestcraft and such like. Such is an abomination unto the Lord so we need to be as sure as Abraham was that it is the voice of the Lord we hear. We do that by gaining a firm relationship with God so that we recognize his voice. That relationship comes through the Holy Spirit which is also called the spirit of truth in John 15:26 It proceedeth from the Father and testifies of Christ. To gain this relationship we will spend hours in prayer and in reading the scriptures to which the Holy Spirit will testify to the truthfulness of. A good formula for scripture study is:
1.Pray sincerely that the Holy Spirit will attend you before you begin. Set aside an alone time of at least a hour or more. 2. Read and notice that the Spirit is with you. 3. Ponder what you have read. Let your mind wander where the Spirit guides you. If you lose the Holy Spirit either go back until you find it or delete what you wrote and try it again later. At all times you need to listen with your heart and follow the direction of the Holy Spirit or scrap it. 4. Now write your impression. Again be sure the Spirit is still with you. You might be surprised what insights you wrote if you go back and read it a week or so later. 5. Close with a prayer of thanksgiving.  For in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey his commandments.
