We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Consider the Lilies of the Field

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not neither do they spin and yet... even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”
Roger Hoffman wrote a beautiful song about this scripture found in Matthew 6:25-34. It is the last verse of that song that touches me so deeply.
“Consider the sweet, tender children. Who must suffer on the earth. The pains of all of them he carried from the day of his birth.”
Are we not all children of the same Father in Heaven and he sent his Only Begotten Son to carry the pains of all of us that we might sit down with him in his Father and our Father’s house in Heaven. I could quit right there and that would be a powerful message, but I want to say something about taking no thought for tomorrow. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and these things shall be added unto you.”
If we seek the kingdom of God, if we follow the commandments, if we pray and follow the Holy Spirit we will have the things we need. That does not mean that we will have everything we want, but the things we need. Sometimes what we need is difficult experiences to make us overcome our weakness that we will call upon God. The most spiritual people I known including my Lord and savior Jesus Christ have over great trials and tribulations.
