We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Who was Christ the man

My thoughts today are about the personality of Christ. We know his purpose was that he came to save us that we may return to our heavenly home. Today I am thinking about the individual characteristics of the man Jesus.  We know that he was born into humble circumstances and his attitude was more of serving rather than being served. He was kind and good and he wept. He is sometimes referred to as man of sorrow and grief. I think we sometimes get the idea that he was weak, a wusse if you will.
Quite to the contrary he was strong and he knew who he was. At the age of twelve he was about his Father’s business. He drove the money changers out of the temple and withstood mocking and scorn. He carried a heavy wooden cross up the hill to his death. Most would have been weak from lack of food, from the beating with the cat of nine tails and from the loss of blood as he bore our sins in the garden. Yes, he was half immortal but he was also half mortal. He was a man and he was strong, physically and spiritually.
