We are often challenged to be Christ like and I have been
making a list of the things that Jesus did that I can do likewise. One thing
I think we all know is that Jesus has a very tender heart. He had compassion on
the little children and on the sick and lame. But he was also humble. He knew he
was the Son of God the only begotten of the Father and that he was greater than
any of us. And yet, He cried (expressing deep emotion) and said, “He that
believeth on me, believeth not on me but on him that sent me. And he that seeth
me seeth him that sent me.” (John 12:44)
I believe that when he said “seeth
me” he meant, what you see me do is the same as if you saw the Father do it. In
John 10:25 He said to the Jews, “My
doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.” (John 7:16) Christ did nothing
except it was approved of and commanded of the Father.
Oh, that I could do the same then
I would truly be Christ like.
