In Paul’s letter to the Romans he says they are justified by
faith (For it is by faith that we believe in Christ). He goes on to says that
by faith we have access into grace, and in grace we rejoice in hope of the
glory of God. It is by faith that we start
on the path back to heaven where we will receive the glory of God.
He says we “glory in tribulations.” What? You mean that I
can’t sit back and sail into heaven after I accept Christ as my savior and
redeemer? You mean it’s going to be hard? Yup. Not only that, but we knew that
it would be hard before we even agreed to come here. Take Job for example. If
anyone had tribulations Job did and he talked to God about it. Chapter
thirty-eight. “And the Lord answered Job
out of the whirlwind and said, … gird up now thy loins like a man… Where wast
thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?” In other words God is saying,
you were there Job. And didn’t you do your part? Didn’t you lay the
cornerstone? Where wast thou “When the
morning stars sang together, and all the son’s of God shouted for joy?” Didn’t
you sing and shout for joy along with them? Yup. He was there and so were we. We know we
were there, otherwise we would have fallen from heaven even as Lucifer and one
third of the Heavenly host.
Back to Paul’s letter to the Romans, he says we glory in
tribulations that we might learn patience. With patience comes experience. With
experience comes hope. With hope we are unashamed of Christ, of our belief in
him, because the love of God fills our hearts thru the Holy Ghost “for when we
were yet without strength,” when we still were weak in the truth, Christ died
for us.
He says it is rare that one will die for a righteous man,
for a good man some might die, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. … we shall be saved by his life.
And not only so, but we also joy in God.”
