We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; in deed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul ... if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

My punishment is greater than I can bear.

Genesis 4:13 “And Cain said unto the Lord, ‘My punishment is greater than I can bear.’”  Cain has just slain Able, a terrible crime. He doesn’t say, “Oh I’ve done a terrible thing. How can I ever forgive myself.”  Instead he says, “My punishment is greater than I can bear.” There is no remorse, no sorrow or repentance.
Christ wipes away our sin after we repent. Because of this we can forgive ourselves, which is the harder part of repentance. But we need to realize that as hard as it is sometimes to repent unless we make that step our punishment is indeed greater that we can bear unless we can forgive ourselves and move on.
